This blog will serve as a forum for me to organize, or simply spit out, depending on the day, my thoughts on my research. It will also become a documentation of the trials and tribulations of my journey through graduate school.
I should probably mention what I’m doing at this point. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Public History. But what is that? you ask. I’m currently trying to figure that out. Well, not quite. Perhaps I should rephrase: I’m trying to figure out what it can be.
My own history is bound up in this whole affair. I’m a first generation Indo-Canadian (although I’m not sure exactly what that means…it seems to me that it includes a spectrum of identities) and this, along with an undergraduate course in African History, has shaped my interest the colonial and postcolonial world. I could go into great detail as to what exactly I’m interested in and why, but I’ll save that for later posts. I can’t seem to stop talking about it, much to the annoyance of my family, so I see no reason why it shouldn’t pop up in my posts constantly.
If any of this is remotely interesting to you, read on!
